First Day Of School

Landon was able to go to work with me all day today and he LOVED it. Since my parents are out of town, I have had a hard time finding people to watch him. I got special permission from the principal to bring him to work with me if I had to. It was so much fun to have him there with me all day. I went out and bought a new movie (a $5 one) some new coloring books and crayons, brought fun snacks and a portable DVD player and I didn't even really need any of that. Landon spent the whole day doing puzzles and playing games. The only time I had a 'problem' with him was when I needed to leave the classroom for a minute and he thought it was time to leave. At the end of the day, we walked all of the students in our class to the buses. When we got to one of the buses, he attempted to get on it. I told him it wasn't our turn but the bus driver told him he could come on in and take a look. He was so excited and thought we were going for a ride. After I pried him away and got back to the classroom to get our things, he started to cry-he wanted to stay longer. I carried a very tired boy to the car and he fell asleep as soon as we left the parking lot. I have a feeling he is going to really like school when it's time and that couldn't make me happier.

Appointment @ 30 weeks

I am 30 weeks and 6 days pregnant and went to another appointment today. It feels like I was just there! Maybe that's because I am going every 2 weeks now and then after a certain point, I will go every week until the baby comes. Everything looked pretty good and the appointment was pretty uneventful. The only thing that was of concern was traces of protein in my urine. I have to go in next week to have that checked just to be on the safe side. Some fun news for me is that I weigh 4 pounds less than I did at my last appointment. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I was sick but I don't care, I'll take it! Kind of ironic that I feel bigger now than I did a few weeks ago. Doctor said it's nothing to be concerned about and said something about gaining only 5 more pounds with this pregnancy-that's wishful thinking but I'm hoping that's what'll happen! I am only 9 pounds heavier now than I was at my first appointment. I gained SO much more weight with Landon so I was pretty excited to see the scale today. Speaking of weight, I was told that the baby weighed 3 pounds 3 ounces at my last ultrasound! I think that sounds on the big side but the doctor assured me that he was in the 50% tile for weight. I want to try for a natural delivery so the smaller, the better. I don't want a scrawny little baby but less than 9 pounds would be nice! Everything else with the ultrasound came back normal so that was comforting to me. Only 9 more weeks until baby time!!!!

Cleanin

Landon has never been the kind of kid who makes a mess. I can usually trust that he will be content playing with whatever toys he has while I get stuff done around the house. Well, today is a different story! I gave Landon a container of snacks to help himself to while he watched cartoons and I cleaned up the kitchen. He was doing fine (and usually does) but when I was finished, I walked over to a HUGE mess and Landon in the middle with his dump truck. I thought he was trying to put everything back into the container so instead of freaking out I said, "Uh oh, what happened?. Are you picking it all up? Good job!" He replied, "Yeah, Mom, I cleanin the A's." FYI -The snacks were shaped in the letter A. Anyway, he moving around the peices making an even bigger mess with his truck. If that is his idea of cleaning something up, I'm in for some trouble!

Another naughty thing he did this week: Chris' mom wanted a belly picture of me (she doesn't really do emails or anything) and I decided to throw in some pictures of Landon from Easter. I printed about 10 pictures and wrote in description what was going on in the picture with marker, some pen. Landon saw me doing this and wanted the "black" one so bad. I told him this was mommys and offered to go find his crayons. I put the marker in the tin by the phone in the kitchen and went downstairs to find something for him to do. I got distracted with tidying up Landon's room and a few minutes later, heard Landon happily calling my name. He handed me a picture of me with a black face. I immediately thought of all Easter pictures I had ready to mail, destroyed and ran upstairs to see what other damage he had done. All of the other pictures were safely tucked in a card for my mother in law. He must of just seen this particular picture sitting out (I decided to send a different picture) and decided to do what I was doing. There was, however, a nice black long mark on my mom's kitchen table. Chris was able to get it off pretty fast-we were lucky! I put a plastic cover on the table and moved the pens and markers on the counter out of his reach.

What a little stinker! I know he wasn't trying to be though. He really is such a good boy-I have been really lucky.

Preggy News

I finally got Chris to take a belly shot of me to post. Here I am at 29 weeks and 3 days-only 74 days to go! I meant to take a picture at my last appointment (last Wednesday) but I was feeling way too crummy. Landon somehow caught a NASTY virus and passed it on to me and then to Mandy-SORRY! Anyway, at my last appointment, my blood pressure was still a little high so my doctor gave me a higher dose of the medication I was on before. I also talked to her about maybe having an ultrasound done since I dont feel the little guy move all that much. I then learned that the placenta is anterior making it harder for me to feel him when he does move. She let me have an ultrasound done for some reassurance. I had to go the next day and Mandy came along with. I was kind of disappointed with the lady that performed the ultrasound. First of all, she barely talked to me and secondly, focused on the babies face for maybe 3 seconds only twice and thirdly, I didn't get any pictures! I guess I will have to find out what the radiologist found at my next appointment. From what I could see, the baby has gotten a lot bigger from out last scanning and he has chubby cheeks just like Landon did! I am so excited for that. I loved Landon's big cheeks. Aside from being sick, things are going relatively well for me. I am starting to get uncomfortable but hey, that's part of the whole pregnancy thing and I know our baby boy is going to be so worth it.

Easter 2009

Easter Day
For Easter this year, we decided to go to church with Aunt Brittany and Uncle Cody in Bountiful. We almost made it through sacrament before Landon had a blow out. I don't know what kind of virus he got but it sure was messy. I'm glad I snapped a few pictures of him in his Easter oulfit before it needed to be washed. I thought maybe he just had one yucky diaper and we could make it through the rest of church but we ended up going home, giving him a bath, and putting him on a long long nap. Poor guy.

Here is Landon right after we woke him up to hurry and get ready for church. Chris bought this basket of dinosaurs at work (I added to it) about a month ago and we had been dying to give it to him. He loved it!

Egg Coloring
The night before Easter, we went over to my aunt Melissa's house to color eggs and have a little birthday party for her. Landon played Rock Band with uncle Cody and the birthday girl and had a blast. After a while, he got to color a few eggs.

We hope everyone had a very Hoppy Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt

Landon went on his first Easter egg hunt today! Everyone in our neighborhood that wanted to partcipate hid 48 eggs in their yard. Each house had a pink bow tied in a tree so we would know where to look next. At each house, the kids could find one egg. What a fun idea! Landon was really timid at first but got excited and wanted to find all of the green eggs. We were slow and way behind the group so we usually got the last of the eggs and that made Landon really upset. It's so hard being two and a half!
Getting ready to go!
Landon and Allison-our next door neighbor.
Here is Landon being too shy to sit with the kids for a group shot.
Brady baby slept through the whole hunt.

The loot. Grandma Wagner made his cute monkey bucket!

Brady woke up right when we got back to our house. He is the cutest little bunny!

Appointment @ 28 Weeks

I hit the 28Th week mark today and had yet another appointment. I have to say this one was the most eventful by far. I went in thinking we would be there for maybe an hour-boy was I wrong! My blood pressure was pretty high and the babies heart rate was in the 190's for quite some time. My doctor tried using a different machine to see if it was reading wrong but his little heart rate was still not what it's supposed to be. Normal is considered 140's to 170's. My doctor was pretty concerned so she had me check into labour and delivery to have a non stress test done on the baby as well as some blood work. Before I left the office I had the Rhogam shot in my bottom because my blood is Rh negative. We don't know the babies blood type so if it ends up being different, my body could possibly reject other pregnancies if I didn't get the shot. I had to do the same thing when I was pregnant with Landon but ended up not needing the shot after delivery. Anyway, my urine was sent to the lab (there was traces of protein which isn't good)while I was hooked up to a constant fetal monitor and blood pressure machine. The baby was VERY active and kept making it difficult to get his heart rate read consistently. When we did get his heart rate, it was perfectly fine. Whew! As far as my blood pressure, it was still pretty high. I was monitored from about 4pm to 8pm and it didn't settle. My blood work came back normal so that means I'm not preclamtic but was prescribed Labetalol to keep my blood pressure in control. I go back in one week to make sure everything is okay. In the mean time, I need to take 2 pills a day and check and record my blood pressure. The nurse that discharged me was pretty surprised that I wasn't put on bed rest but we will see how things go. Bed rest is sounding pretty good to me right now but I'm sure I would hate it after a week. After I got home and rested for a bit, my mom helped me check my blood pressure with her electronic device and my blood pressure was pretty normal. Must mean the medication they gave me is working. High blood pressure runs in my family so I wasn't really shocked that it was high. I'm just glad my little guy is okay in there. I'm also glad that Mandy and Brady were able to be with me in the office and hospital. They were good sports even though we were there for almost 5 hours. Mandy even went and brought me snacks. Thanks for being such a good friend Mandy!
I forgot how hideous I look in the hospital gowns...sick!
The machines that monitored the me and the baby.

Brady and Mandy stayed with me the whole time.

Oh the joys of pregnancy! I can't wait until this is all over. I am so ready to have my body back. Oh, and to see that little miracle and Chris and I created! ;)

Hair Cut Time

Landon's hair was driving me crazy so I had to get it cut yesterday. Sorry Dana, I didn't hear back from you and I couldn't wait! I was scared to take him to the same place that totally messed up his hair last time but I figured I could ask for someone else. When I told them about our visit last time, the girl was shocked that someone used a zero on his hair and nothing on the top and then asked if the girl was blond. Turns our she got fired. Anyway, this girl was really good with Landon and got his hair done pretty quickly considering Landon was throwing a fit. She told him he was being so braved and Landon cried, "I'm BRA AVE! I'm BRAVE!" It was SO funny. We only ended up cutting the sides and back this time so we can let the top grow out a little before cutting it. It turned out really cute. Landon is such a handsome boy!
Before & After
Landon's hair doesn't look so bad in the before picture but believe me, it was pretty shaggy. Especially behind his ears and in the back. I had to start tucking his hair behind his ears! His hair grows so crazy in the back. Here is a picture to give you an example. I took this picture right before his first haircut.

Baby Brady

We have been having too much fun with Mandy's little guy, Brady. I was interested to see how Landon would react with the baby and he has been perfectly fine! He doesn't get jealous if I feed or hold the baby and that's a lot because I can't get enough of him. It seems natural to have a baby in our home...maybe it's because Brady is such a good boy and hardly ever cries. We just love him and are so glad he is staying for 3 weeks instead of 1! Yay!

Diaper Cakes

My sweet friend, Mandy, sent these diaper cakes in the mail for my sister and I. They arrived the day she got here, which was Monday. How silly is that? Anyway, she made them herself! The brown and baby blue one is mine and the one with more neutral colors is for Brit since she doesn't know what she is having yet. Brittany thinks it's a boy so Mandy went ahead and bought little baby booties that say "Thank Heavens for little Boys." and used them as a cake topper for both of ours. This is the first gift our babies have received that that's kind of fun to say. I don't know if I will be able to take it apart when the baby comes-they are just too cute.

Baby Bedding

Mandy is coming to stay with us for a week with her little baby (!!!) so I figured I could set up the crib for her. I also thought it would be fun to see how Landon would react to a crib in his room. He got really excited and wanted to help me "fix it"with a screwdriver. I also wanted to set up the crib and decide which bedding to use when the baby is here for the first few weeks or months. Our friends next door are giving us their crib, bedding, and matching changing table/dresser but I'm not sure when. They need to have their little boy transitioned from the crib to a bed. I figure the baby will be with us in a bassinet anyway but it's always fun to have the crib set up. Anyway, I can't decide if I want to use the star bedding or the airplane one I used when Landon came home. I have never used KSL but am always looking at double strollers but as soon as I find one that I like and talk to Chris about it, it's gone. Maybe someone would be willing to trade for a crib set or I could even just sell one and use the money to go towards a double stroller. Those things can get sooo pricey! It would be silly to go pick out another bed set even though that's what I want to do! I wish I would of gotten bedding that doesn't have a theme but just plain colors. I'm leaning towards the star one just becuase it goes with Landon's room more. You could say that I have alot of time on my hands....
