The Dentist!

I waited until Landon was almost four years old to take him to the dentist. We have been meaning to take him since we moved to Utah but I guess it's just been slipping our minds! At the last minute, someone canceled their appointment so we were able to take Landon in today. Landon has been SUPER excited to go and talking about it a ton lately. I didn't think the excitment would last once he was in the recliner chair but he did AWESOME! It really helped that the whole office was decorated in a fish theme. There was an awesome fish tank right when you walked in with tropical fish, big fishes and seaweed floating from the ceiling, coral structures on the walls, and movies to watch while in the chair. Landon chose to watch Finding Nemo. Unfortunately, he does have a few cavities so he may need to go back and have those taken care of while being knocked totally out, yikes. I got some tips on brushing his teeth and was told to floss more so I'm definately going to be crazy about doing that now. I was so proud of my brave little guy who is getting way too big!!

In The Car

I think the boys were just as excited to get a family car as much as I was! We have really been enjoying having a car to use anytime we want!

24th Of July!

Pioneer Day is an official holiday celebrated on the 24th of July in Utah. We look forward to this day because it's like celebrating the 4th of July all over again! We started off the celebration by getting a brand new car! That's right, we are no longer carless! Well, it's a 2009 Toyota Corolla but practically new. We did not even pick out this car...the salemen kind of just said what about this one? And we loved it! Next to my wedding and the birth of my two sons, this was one of the most exciting days of my life! Finally, freedom! We have not just wanting but desperately needing this car for some time now. I feel really blessed that everything finally worked out.
After picking up the car, Chris took the new car home and the boys and I went over to Uncle Craig's for food, family, swimming, and fireworks! I wish I would of taken more pictures. Landon had a blast with all of his second cousins on the trampoline and in the pool. He had a great time with the fireworks and so did Carter! He really surprised everyone with how well he did. He is hilarious! The louder the firework, the more he would clap. I always have a good time catching up with all of the girl cousins and wish they lived closer so we could play more. This was a great day and we had a lot of fun with our family. We are so lucky!

Birthday Bike!

Landon's Grandpa and Grandma Wagner decided to give Landon his birthday present early. Landon recieved his very first bike! He helped Grandma pick out the bike at the store and then Grandpa put it together and brought it over later that night. Landon doesn't quite get the whole pedaling thing but I'm sure in no time he'll be zipping by. He looked grown up on his bike and I can't believe he is almost 4!
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa (Pa-pa!) Wagner!!!

Opposites

The older Carter gets, the more I am realizing how DIFFERENT he is from his big brother. Not only are they different as far as appearance goes, they have their own separate little personalities. Landon seems to be a bid more timid and Carter is our crazy baby. The biggest thing right now that I can't figure out is Carter's sleeping habits. Somehow, he can survive on just a 10 minute nap for one whole day. Sometime he does take good naps but the last few days have been driving me crazy. I need more than a few minutes break. If he falls asleep in the car and I move him to his crib, he wakes up and wants to play. If I move Landon, he sleeps for hours even if it's on the couch with loud noises. Carter is also harder to get to sleep than Landon was as a baby. It breaks my heart to hear him cry but by the end of the day, I know he has to be exhausted (as am I) and needs to go to sleep. Here is Carter one day, wide awake, playing while Landon was zonked on the couch. Total opposites!!!

One!

I was checking my e-mail today and saw that I had received a free 8by10 from Target Portrait studio. Since Carter is now one, I thought it was about time I got his pictures done. I'm not a huge fan of portrait pictures anymore but can't afford a professional to take his pictures outside so this was sounding like a good idea. Anyway, I needed to wash Carter's hair but sure enough they were doing plumping next door and turned the water off for a while. I had to wet down his hair with a water bottle but he looked handsome and off we went! Carter was being SO stinking cute throughout the shoot. He was even posing himself in some pictures. I'm glad I went and got these done because I LOVE them and will be such a neat keepsake.
I have the cutest 1 year old EVER!

Getting there!

Carter has been pulling himself up to anything and everything lately. The doctor told us he would be shocked if he wasn't walking in the next 3 months (that was about a month ago) because of all of the things he's doing. That would mean he will be about 15 months. Landon could at least walk around holding onto a pushing toy by 12 months. What's the deal? I really hope his doctor is right! One, it would be so neat to see our little boy WALKING and two, my arms wouldn't be so sore from carrying him, and three, I would have an excuse to buy lots of cute shoes! Anyone want to take a guess on when it will happen? Come on Carter boy!

Sandbox OR Pool?

Since most of the sand was dumped out of Landon's sandbox (he didn't do it by the way!), my mom suggested cleaning it out and using it as a mini pool. The kids LOVED it and shared so nicely even though it was smaller than a bathtub. I didn't bring swimming suits to my parents so both the boys wore Landon's underwear (which was clean) while they played in the water. Carter's underwear was saggy and it was hilarious watching him crawl around in it. You do what you gotta do!

Pa-Pa's Ride

My parents took a little drive on their motorcycle over to our place the other evening. Of course the kids were so excited to see them and wanted to sit with Pa-Pa on his bike. Landon and Carter always have a great time with their grandfather and it's neat to watch them together.

Maybe someday the boys will get to go for a ride...MAYBE!

Little Evie

Evie is finally home! Brittany and Cody's little girl had to stay in the hospital for 12 days and they were able to take her home this past Sunday. Evie has had some problems with breathing, but they were able to bring her home on an oxygen tank. Since she was in a special care nursery, Landon and Carter weren't able to go visit with her.. So today was the big day! Landon is totally in love with her and I think was taken back by how small she is. He REALLY enjoyed holding her and as soon as it was my turn, he asked if he could hold her again. It was pretty stinking cute. I tried to get Carter to notice the baby but he was more interested in getting into everything at her house. He did like her blankey in the car though. He snatched that thing right off her carseat even though he had one in his lap that was pretty similar! Little stinker. He looks like a complete giant compared to her little body. We had so much fun with her and can't wait to see her again. We love that little girl so much!
Here are some pictures of the Tak family leaving the hospital. Can you believe how good my sister looks after just having a baby? I sure can't!
So glad you are home, baby girl!!!
