-One Week Old-

Has is really been a week since little Carter joined our family?! Time is just flying by. We are having so much fun with him here. He is the most sweetest and cuddlist baby ever. I can't complain-he is such a good baby! Everyone told me that my second baby would be a holy terror because Landon was so good but Carter is the exact opposite of that. I think he is even better than Landon was and that's saying a lot! We just love our Carter James.

Today we decided to go swimming @ my sister's pool with big brother Landon, Joan, my mom, aunt Melissa, and cousin Skyler. Okay, so of course I didn't put Carter in the pool (as well as myself) but I just had to put on his cute swimming oulfit that my friend Mandy gave me. It was a little big but he was such a little stud in it! Thanks Mandy! While everyone else enjoyed the pool, my sister and I dropped off her car to have the oil changed and then Carter went to his first two stores ever-Seagull Book and Roberts. HAHA! Sorry little guy, you are probably going to be seeing lots of places like that from now on. He slept the whole time and was a complete angel!

Landon told me he wanted to take a picture on the floor with Carter. I set the baby down and told him to go lay next to him but he refused and wanted his picture taken like this. What a funny boy!

*Saturday With Baby*

My Grandpa is retiring so my mom decided to throw him a huge party on Saturday at my aunt's place. Chris was able to get seafood from his work for more than half the price and so he really wanted to go and be able to enjoy it! I wasn't sure if I was ready to take the baby out and everyone kept telling me it would be better to keep him home. At the last minute, I decided to go when Joan, my mother in law, offered to watch the baby. It was hard to leave but I was so glad that I did...I needed to get out of the house! After we got home, we didn't stay too long, my grandparents came by to drop things off from the party and then they got to see their new great grandbaby. My grandma told me she was really tired and would be afraid of dropping him if she held him. When my grandpa saw him, he just stretched out his arms. He is such a proud pop! When Landon was born, we bought him a shirt that says "This is what a great grandpa looks like" and I LOVE it when he wears it. I'm so glad that Carter is able to grow up knowing his grandparents AND great grandparents. What a lucky little guy.
These flowers were delivered to our home from Harmon's minus the balloon-that was from my mom.. How pretty are those?!

:::Doctor Appointment:::

Carter had his very first doctor visit on Friday, the 26th and he did great! The only thing that was a little of concern was that fact that his weight dropped down to 7 pounds and 9 oz. He seems so little to me! He is a very sleepy guy and always falls asleep during feedings so I had to start pumping and that seems to help when he's not all snuggled up next to me. His pediatrician was super nice and totally reminded me of my dad! We are so glad that our boy is nice and healthy. Way to go little man!

+First Bath+

Carter had his first bath on Thursday night at just 4 days old! He really didn't like it at first but didn't seem to mind all that much when he actually sat in the water rather than just using a wash cloth. Chris' mom gave him the bath and I was able to record the whole thing. She also gave Landon his first bath, which is kind of fun! Carter smelt SO good afterwards...there is nothing more sweet smelling that a clean newborn babe!

:::DAY 2 @ HOME:::

For the most part, we just relaxed all day on Wednesday.. We took Carter outside for some fresh air, took naps, had a DELICIOUS meal prepared for us by the Relief Society, watched a movie together, and even got Landon to hold Carter for the first time. Even though the baby had only been home for a short amount of time, it felt like he was always meant to be there. We are just so in love with our little guy!

First Night @ Home

Carter did great the first night at home. He slept and ate well giving mommy and daddy the rest they needed. Carter was circumsized earlier in the day so having Chris' mom there to help with the diaper changes meant a lot to me. It really scared me to change him at first! It was a lot of fun to put Carter in the bassinet that has been sitting next to our bed for quite some time.

Personalized Quilt

My Grandma made this adorable personalized quilt for Carter and gave it to me the day of my last appointment. She was so worried that she had the blanket all done and that Carter wouldn't be born in the month of June. Well, she got her wish! We love the quilt-thanks Grandma!

Welcome Home!

We came home from the hospital around 3pm on Tuesday morning. How fun it was to pull up to balloons welcoming us home! Landon was playing in the dirt when we arrived and as much as I tried to get him to take a picture with Carter, he wasn't interested until he could sit on my lap. I didn't realize it until later that that picture was our FIRST family picture of four.

We settled in and then my sister and brother in law came over to visit and make us a yummy meal. Later, my aunt Melissa and her family came by with Carter's first birthday cake. Or should I say, "birtday" cake. Don't worry that the bakery misspelled birthday! Anyway, it was a relaxing first day at home and we didn't miss the hospital one bit! It was really nice to be home with Landon instead of seeing him for maybe an hour a day.

+Bringing Home Baby+

We were able to bring our beautiful little boy home from the hospital on June 24Th in the afternoon. Carter had his circumcision so he was really drowsy from the medication and it scared us to change his diaper but luckily, Joan was there to help us. He peed all over his cute little outfit we had for him to wear home so he ended up wearing the shirt from the hospital. It was fun putting him in his car seat and taking him to the car. We forgot how tiny newborn babies are! We were just so thrilled to go home, be in our own beds, and see our Landon.
