Cheating

After church, I decided to pack the boys up and head to my parents house-big surprise! I have had her car for about a month now because she was out of town and can't drive right now because of her back injury. I am tired of carrying Carter's carseat with him in it everywhere, it's such a pain in the butt! So I decided to put him in Landon's car seat because Landon is using the car seat that stays in Grandma's car. Well, the dumb seatbelt was not long enough to reach if I were to put the carseat facing backwards, something you are supossed to do until baby is 1 years old and 20+ pounds. I knew we were just going down the street so we cheated and I put the seat facing forward. Carter really enjoyed this. He couldn't figure out what was more fun to look at-everything going by or mommy upfront.

Don't worry, this isn't permanent. At least not until he is the legal age and weight and we get Landon a new carseat!

Mom & Dad's Bed

For some reason, Landon thinks it's a real treat to sleep in mom and dad's bed. The kids have been on a funky schedule lately and stay up pretty late. Chris was listening to his IPOD last night and I was reading and we could hear Landon in his room, talking to him self. Pretty soon, he was at our door, wanting to get in our bed. Chris is more of a sucker for letting him get in than I am but I must admit, he was being pretty cute. Once he was in the bed, I knew he was staying and it would be waking up all night with a foot in my back. I slept in Landon's bed and Landon slept in our bed in my spot. He looked pretty comfty listening to daddy's IPOD. I wonder how long it took him to fall asleep...

Blondie

I think we may have a little blondie in our family! Carter lost a lot of hair in the back of his head and it has grown in completely WHITE. I was a total toe head when I was a baby. Can't wait to see what happens in the summer.

Isn't his hair growing over his ears just the funniest?

Time Out Chair

Landon's great Grandpa (my mom's dad) is an excellent craftsmen. Name something you want and he can make it! While we were visiting one day, I was telling grandpa and grandma Mayne how Landon has needed time outs. My grandpa replied, "Maybe we should make him a time out chair" and that's exactly what he did! He surprised us with it today and I was so impressed! I excitingly told Landon to come try out his chair so he came over, sat down, and started to pout. Poor thing thought I was putting him in time out. Then I told him I just wanted a picture and then he could play and he was happy.

Thanks Pa-pa Red Truck! Hopefully Landon won't spend too much time on it ;)

[I can't wait to paint and decorate this 'bad boy..' haha get it? I will post pictures as soon as I do!]

Cart Man

Since today is pay day, I had a lot of errands to run. After a while, Carter gets sick of being in his car seat and I get sick of hauling that heavy thing everywhere with him in it. On our way to our second stop, I started off just carrying Carter into the store. Oh boy, it was hard to push the cart and hold a 17 pound baby (he weighed 16.9 pounds when he was sick...I'm sure he's up to 17 pounds if not more!) so I stuck him in the cart. This was his first time and I wasn't sure how he would do but he sat up pretty well and L-O-V-E-D it!!! He was smiling a ton, making the cutest noises ever, and putting everything in his mouth that I set next to him. Who knew Target could be so much fun?!

Valentine's Day

We kept Valentine's day pretty simple this year. Landon and I made yummy heart shaped sugar cookies topped with pink cream cheese frosting and sprinkles yesterday. He really enjoyed helping me pour all of the ingredients in the mixing bowl. Then, this morning, I put out some treats for the kids, okay maybe just for Landon, with a simple note from mommy. I'm not sure if Landon quite understands Valentine's day but I tried to do something fun. I think the most important thing is letting them know how much they are loved and they most certainly are.
Baby's first Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Landon & Carter

i just love them.

Feelin' Good

I don't have much to blog about except for the simple fact that we are all feeling SO much better since my last post-yay! It felt like the sniffles and coughs would never end but it did. We have spent most of our days at grandma and grandpa wagner's enjoying the internet and cable. You can usually find Carter with a puff in his mouth. He loves those things. He is such a hungry guy. He will seriously get sad if you are eating in front of him and don't share. It's pretty funny!

Sicky

This last week has been a hard one for us at our home. The kids have been battling a nasty cough (Carter more so) that we think we caught from our trip to the pool. Then, a few nights ago, Carter woke up at 1:30am and he hardly EVER wakes up in the middle of the night. I can't even remember the last time he did before this. Anyway, he screamed pretty much until 8:30 that morning. I thought maybe his congestion was bothering him and caused him to wake up. He continued to fuss and would wake up from a deep sleep and cry so I decided to take him to the doctor. I couldn't get an appointment until 3:10 and I didn't know how I was going to make it until then but luckily Carter slept a bit. Brittany and Cody offered to watch Landon which made it alot easier for me. Thanks you guys! I didn't have to wait long at the doctors office so I was grateful. As I was driving to the doctors I kept wondering if he maybe was just teething but I'm glad I listened to my mothers intution. Turns out poor little guy had a temperature that was 101. something and an ear infection in his right ear. I KNEW something was wrong because he just seemed like he was in such pain. . He was given an antibotic and is doing a lot better now. He is not fully himself yet but has improved so much from the day I took him in. He was such a zombie and just staring-it broke my heart! The doctor recommened a humitifier for the cough so we got one that night. So now Carter is improving and Landon's nose is running NON STOP. It's seriously like a faucet. I was so tired from getting up with Carter that I laid in bed and Landon was watching his movie from the library-Mulan. He loves that movie so much. Anyway, he kept bringing me the smallest peices of toilet paper to wipe his nose. He was cracking me up. Another reason I was so tired was because I got what I thought was an allergic reaction to a spider bite (yesterday) and took Benadryl to try and get rid of them. It made me drowsy so I took a nap when Chris got home from work. I went to sleep around 2am and it seemed like the baby woke up every hour after that. Chris has been working an early shift so of course it's just me gettingup. Well today, I start to feel REALLY itchy again. I took a look at my leg and knew something was wrong. Either our apartment was infested with 1048575 kinds of bugs or something was seriously wrong. I ripped all of our sheets and blankets off the bed and was planning on doing all of our laundry when the itching continued to get worse. I felt itchy from head to toe. I ended up going to an Instant Care place and I was told I had hives and was given two types of medication. I left feeling kind of annoyed because they could not tell me what it was from. I have not eaten anything different or changed my laundry detergent-nothing. It just came out of the blue. The below photo is not my arm but it is what the back of my legs and bottom looked like. The rest of my legs were a blotchy red.

Gross huh?
