When Grandma Is Away...

Grandma is out of town for 3 weeks visiting my pops. While she is away, we get to do some fun things...like sleep in her king size bed! And then we get to do some not so fun things....like have the sprinklers not shut off. They ran for so long yesterday morning that the water from the sprinker filled up the window well downstairs. So I got to spend 2+ hours cleaning up the mess. Not cool! Luckily I had our neighbor, Lisa, and my aunt to come to the rescue. We used two shop vacs and were able to get all of the water out of the window well. It was a crazy day! Good thing there is a yummy chinese food place just down the road after we were done ;)

+Swimming Party+

We celebrated Landon's 3rd birthday party at the Layton Surf N Swim last Saturday. Kind of ironic that the 22nd of August was actually his due date 3 years ago. His birthday wasn't for another 2 weeks but we wanted to get together with everyone before we left for Seattle. Landon invited his little friend Allison and her brother and they had a blast splashing around. This is the first year that Landon was able to invite friends. It's always just been us old people. He actually knew it was his party and was so excited. After playing in the sun for a while, we decided to get the BBQ going. Don't worry that I didn't even THINK to bring cooking utensils. Poor Cody and Chris had to toss the hotdogs with forks but were good sports about it. We ate cupcakes and Landon opened a few presents. I think he was most excited about the two DVD's that Brittany and Cody got him. He took them down the slide at the little park that was there-so cute. Later that night, some family came by and we had dinner and cake. Landon was HILARIOUS trying to blow out his candles. Oh man, we were laughing so hard. Cody got it on video and took most of the pictures of Landon that day. It was a fun fun day and I'm glad our 3 (almost) year old had fun.

SOLD!

After months of the Jeep sitting in the drive way, we decided it was time to get rid of it. The transmission is shot and completely needs to be replaced. Who would spend over 2 grand to fix something like that on an older car? Certainly not us but someone shopping on KSL does apparently! I guess if you are mechanic and know what you are doing and can do it for cheap, this was a good deal. We were going to donate it if no one wanted to buy it but were lucky enough to get something out of it. We're planning on using the money on another vehicle, I'm praying. The Jeep is actually in great shape and I am a little sad to see it go. Hopefully, hopefully, HOPEFULLY this means we will be getting a new car in the near future. As of right now, we are car less. Thank goodness my parents are letting Chris drive their truck to work. I don't know what we would do without their help. We only had the Jeep for a little over a year and got to drive it for about half of that so it's kind of a bummer. It's also a bummer that I can't take the kids ANYWHERE because the only car we have is a two seater truck. I have to ask to use peoples cars or have my mommy drive me around if I want to go anywhere-thanks Mom! Haha. If anyone knows about any good car deals, let us know. We DESPERATELY need a family vehicle.

Check Ups

Both of my boys went to the doctors for well baby check ups this afternoon. Since Landon is almost 3, WOW, and Carter is now 2 months, we were able to take them in together. Worked out nicely! Here is how it went:
Carter-2 months old

Height: 23.8 in

Weight: 11.4 lb

Head: 15.5 in

We were thrilled to hear that Carter is healthy and thriving. He was looked at before Landon but given his shots after so that it wouldn't freak Landon out. Chris took Landon to the waiting room and I was left to wait for the nurses to come in. I was surprised at how well Carter (and myself!) did with the shots . He had 4 shots, poor guy, and one oral dose of medication for a vaccine. There was two nurses who did the shots so it went very quickly. Carter wasn't too thrilled about the oral stuff, I think he took that worse than the actual shots.

Landon-3 Years Old

Height: 37.9 in

Weight: 31.5lb

Chris and I were nervous to how Landon was going to react to seeing a doctor but he did AWESOME! We were absolutely thrilled. Ever since his surgery about a year and a half ago, he has HATED the doctors. Luckily, we have a pretty cool doctor and Landon really liked him. Everything checked out great with Landon and he is a normal, healthy, active 3 year old boy! The only thing that was of concern, like always, is the fact that Landon is allergic to peanuts and we didn't have an EPI pen. We thought that Landon might of outgrown this allergy because we accidently gave him a bite of peanut butter cookie and nothing happened. The doctor informed us that only 20% of kids out grow this allergy and it's better to be on the safe side and I agree. I would feel HORRIBLE if something were to happen and we didn't have a way to make it better. So we got a prescription and a lollipop and that was that for Landon!

**I feel so blessed to have these little boys in my life and can't express how relieved I am that everything is going just fine with my sweet little boys**

Goodbye Clarke Family!

Ever since my parents moved to Utah about 3 years ago, I have gotten to know and love the next door neighbors, the Clarke family. They are the most friendly little bunch and have always been so generous and supportive of OUR family-they are the ones that just handed over their crib set along with some other baby items! Anyway, they are moving to Maryland this week due to work and I am SO bummed. I'm sure Landon will miss his little buddies too...they have a 3 year old girl and a 20 month old son. Over the last few days, we have been trying to spend as much time as possible together before they take off. One night we ordered chinese food and the next day, the neighborhood put on a going away brunch. In between, the kids got to play with eachother. It will be weird to not see them running around in their yard when I look or walk outside but we are excited that they are moving on to bigger and better things. I hope the new next door neighbors can tolerate us as much as the Clarkes have-we are a crazy bunch ;) We'll miss you Kevin, Lisa, Allison, and Everett!

Cardboard Sailboat

Chris is constantly bringing home lots of different goodies from work but today was a different kind of goody...a cardboard sailboat! It was a salt water taffy display that was going to be thrown in the garbage. Chris pulled Landon around in the backyard and he giggled and giggled. When Chris got tired, Landon pushed the boat around and would 'hide' underneath. Who says cardboard can't entertain kids?!

Turtle Sandbox

Landon's birthday surprise came a little early for him this year. We are going to be out of town for his actual birthday, September 5th, so we were going to celebrate this weekend. Landon is constantly wanting to dig in my mom's front yard so we decided to buy him a sandbox to play in. We've had it in the garage, hiding, and I have been dying to give it to him. I'm am never good at keeping surprises! Well, yesterday my mom and I fixed up the garden area and bought the sand for the sandbox. So then I really wanted to give Landon his present! After dinner, he gave him a bucket filled with things you would need in a sandbox. He had no idea about the box but was still happy about his shovels. W thene showed Landon the turtle and he went running for it, so excited. He played in the box until it was dark and it was the cutest thing.

:::Black and Whites:::

Cody took these black and whites, some color, as we were leaving my Aunt's surprise birthday party last night. Isn't he awesome? The lighting was perfect so we rushed to get home to take some more before the sun went down. We just got a few and I LOVE them. I want to frame the ones of Carter. It's just too bad that Landon wasn't there, he drove with my mom. Maybe we'll get lucky another night!

Too bad these are the only ones of Chris and Landon! I don't know if Landon would of cooperated anyway...he was way tired!

Ruth and Reita

My great twin aunts, Ruth and Reita, turned 80 this month. They were thrown a surprise party last night and we went to celebrate with them. They are so cute-I just love them! They are always happy to see us and were thrilled to see Carter for the first time.

The Fair

At the last minute, I decided to take up my mom's offer to go to the fair in town. By the time I got the kids ready to go and fed, it was 7:00pm! That gave us only 2 1/2 hours of fun at the fair but we had a great time. Landon got to ride a pony and LOVED it. I had to walk along side of him last year but this time, he did it all by himself and was such a big boy. He didn't understand that his turn was over and other kids needed to get a turn and we had a little bit of a melt down but he quickly got over it. Landon got to feed the goats and see a ton of fun animals like baby pigs, a tiny dwarf horse, a HUGE 1,000 pound pig, chickens, and more. After that, we walked around and then got one of Landon's favorite snacks-NACHOS! It was dark by then so we bought some yummy kettle corn and then headed home. It was pretty fun. Good idea, Grandma!
Life is so rough! As you can see, Carter was absolutely thrilled to be at the fair.
The goats were crazy!

Landon loved this guy because he was so big!

Sleeping Habits

I've been having a hard time these last few days. Carter falls DEAD asleep nursing or in my arms and as SOON as I lay him down, he's awake again. I really don't want him getting used to falling asleep while eating. I want other people to be able to put him to sleep too like EHEM his daddy. He hasn't been a fan of the pacifier lately at ALL. It's so easy to give in and just let him eat as long as he wants. Sometimes I fall asleep feeding him in bed and that's kind of scary. I would be lying if i said i dont love holding him all day but at midnight, i want to go to sleep too. I can't complain too much because once Carter is out, he's OUT and has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now. Anyway, I can tell he's going to be a really lovable little guy because he loves to be held close. His favorite position is up on your shoulder and he loves to have his back and bum patted. He also really likes his blankets close to his face. He for sure takes after his mama and big brother. If you think it's bad that Landon still has his blanket then pretend like you can't read that I still have mine and yes, I do sleep with it every night! It must be a Wagner thing...Aunt Brittany has her "big blue" too. Uncle Travis has his up until a year or two ago when he left it at a hotel. Anyway, I try to not get too frustrated because I know that pretty soon he's not going to want to cuddle with his mommy all of the time. Here are some fun pictures of him when he IS sleepin.
I took my tired boys for a walk the other night and they both crashed. Chris wasn't too sure about having Carter in the baby bijornbecause his facewas all smashed against me. Babies love that and appartently Carter does too!The other night, Landon wanted a binky and i tried to tell him they were just for babies but he still tried to get one. I asked if he was a baby and he said yes. So here is my big baby in Carter's bed. It was ridiculous. He looked so funny. Now he thinks he can climb in there!

Maybe Carter will find his thumb like his brother did and be able to soothe himself. That would be nice ;]

*Our Little All Star*

I can't believe that Carter will be 7 weeks on Monday. Where does the time go? I want him to be little forever! I don't notice the changes in his face until I look at his newborn pictures. He is definately starting to fill out. It will be interesting to find out how much he weighs at the end of this month. I know it won't last but he's got the prettiest blue eyes. He's also got blone eyebrows which makes me think he's going to be lighter than Landon-maybe we'll have a little blondie boy! I was SUPER blonde when I was little so that would be fun. We are still waiting for those smiles but I think he is getting close. He is such a sweetie and we can't get enough of him!
