Black Friday

I didn't think I was going to be able to go shopping on black friday this year since Chris had to work but Cody volunteered to watch the boys so that I could go with Britt-Thanks Cody! Landon, Carter, and I spent the night at their place and I figured the kids would sleep in until 9 because that's what happens at our house. Nope, Landon was up at 6 and Carter followed soon after. Sorry Cody! Anyway, we went to Target first and it wasn't TOO bad shopping around but we had to wait in line for an hour and a half and we got there at 5am. Yikes! Only after did we see in the ad that if you spent a certain amount of money, you could get a $10 gift card. Together, we spent that much. Oh well. We went to Kohl's, Bath and Body works, and Bed Bath and Beyond and then we were done. I was pleased to find that I came $3.75 under budget :)
After we had lunch at Brittany's, I decided to run to one more store to see if they had what I set out for. Since Landon was up so early, he fell asleep in the car and so he had his nap in the cart. I got a lot of weird looks but honestly didn't care!

Carter thought it was funny. So I got some OK deals but nothing that was super amazing. Who knows if I'll do it again next year. Maybe if I go with my sister-we have so much fun together!

Thanksgiving 2009

For Thanksgiving this year, our family went to my grandparents house. The food was delishious of course, it always is when grandma cooks, and we really enjoyed spending time with everyone. However, we missed my mom and dad being there. Hopefully it will be different next year and they will be able to join us together!

Here is Landon anxiously awaiting dinner to start. He didn't eat much and he never does but he enjoyed the meal nonetheless. And yes, he is sitting in the bumbo seat. That skinny boy!
Even Grandma's kitty had fun on Thanksgiving. Or maybe she didn't...Landon chased her around trying to get her to play with her toys and was sad when the kitty was not eating the food that was set outside for her. I thought it was hilarious how she/he was sleeping!!

Around this time of year, it really makes me really think of all that I am thankful for. When it all comes down to it, it's my family.
I love my husband and am thankful for all that he does to support us. I am thankful that he is such a good dad to our children, even if I don't show it sometimes.
I am eternally grateful that I am am able to be a mother to my two beautiful little boys.
What a blessing these little guys have been for me.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

5 Months Old

Someone turned 5 months old today!
It's Carter bug!
I can't believe that it's already time to post about having a 5 month old babe. It just doesn't seem right! I just brought him home the hospital...didn't I?
Carter is our little stinker. He's spoiled rotten and I think he knows it!! He has to be held almost all day long and will let you know if he's mad when you aren't. When he IS in a good mood, we just soak it all up and he gives the cutest smiles and laughs. He's recently started to growl and it's SO funny. He will totally mimick you doing it too. To celebrate today, Carter tried baby banana food for the first time. I was going to wait until he was maybe 6 months but this guy is hungry and has mastered the cereal. We gave it to Carter after he was done with his morning cereal so I don't think he was hungry enough for it but almost finished off a little jar at his night time feeding so I guess he liked it! I love Carter (even though I feel like I can't get anything done while he is awake) and really can't imagine life without him.
Question: Our baby boy still has blue eyes. They aren't the more blue you have ever seen but BLUE none the less. Does that mean he will keep them? I really hope so!

It's Snowing

I have a feeling we are going to be stuck at home for the next few days. Good thing there are lots of toys to play with, movies to watch, and chores to be done.

I'm sure there will be lots of cuddling going on too. Carter doesn't seem to be himself. I don't know if he is coming down with something or what. Poor little guy.
P.S.Chris got a call this morning saying he got the promotion at work that we have been crossing out fingers for. Now we can start looking for a place to live. Yay!

Big Boy

On Thursday afternoon, my mom had some people over for a watch making party. Carter was asleep when everyone showed up so I thought it was the perfect time to get a watch done for my mother-in-law for Christmas. After not too long, Carter was awake and wanted attention. My mom held him for a while and then we stuck him in Landon's highchair which was right next to me. He had a blast playing with his toys and screaming. He recently has "found" his voice and loves to make noise. Landon was on the other side of me playing with my pony beads, making shooting noises. I for sure felt like a mother of two, trying to get something done with my two little ones on either side of me! Later on, I put him in the highchair again and we fed him his cereal there. Landon is just now starting to show signs of jealously when Carter uses his things or grabs his toys. Landon is getting to big for the highchair anyway though. We bought a tray for the bumbo and have been feeding him in there and it's a lot of fun to see him sitting straight up rather than laying in his bouncy. It's good for his neck muscles too. We had so much fun taking pictures and just admiring our 'big boy.' He has grown so much in just the last week or two, it seems like.

Here is the watch I made. My mother-in-law loves the color blue so that's why I picked out those beads. It was really the only blue beads to choose from but I think she will really like it.

Matchy Matchy

Tonight for Homemaking at church, we had the author of the Emma Smith book come and speak from Idaho and it was pretty cool. It was Sunday dress so I put on a sweater I had purchased earlier at Target (for like, 6 bucks!) and remembered that Carter had a argyle sweater in his closet that Mandy lent to me. I put on his tie, shirt, and pants that Landon had worn as a baby to Brittany's wedding and he was SUCH a little stud. The whole outfit is 0-3 months so it is probably the last time he will wear it so I'm glad I pulled it out.

I can't get over that little tie.

23

Happy Birthday to me-I turned 23! My birthday was this last Friday, November 6th, and I had a really special one. My mom took me out to lunch @ Cafe Rio and then I came home to a surprise cake from the hubs. He tries to be really cute when it comes to cakes but really doesn't know what to put. He asked me if putting on the cake "Love, Chris, Landon, and Carter" was dumb because the lady at the bakery was asking if he was sure he wanted all that. I thought it was sweet!!! It tasted good too :)

My mom got me this Scentsy and I absolutely LOVE it. Looks great next to my willow tree figurines and smells divine. She made fun of me for taking a picture of it but it will be fun to remember that I got it on my 23rd birthday, right?

On Sunday, my sister and I got to celebrate both of our birthdays together. Her birthday isn't until the 19th but we decided to celebrate while my mom was in town still. She's going to visit the pops. Anyway, my grandparents came over and we had a yummy dinner and Brit made an orange flavored cake. I'm a little embarassed to say how much I kept nibbling on it while we were watching Twilight. It was delish!
So after our Sunday dinner, the celebrating wasn't quite over yet! Brittany took me to Market Street Grill in Salt Lake. It was a pretty fancy place, even if Brit says it wasn't really. When the waiter brought us our food, we both shot eachother a look and I knew exactly what she was thinking. The food was really yummy but the price, however, was NOT! It was a lot of fun to get out of the house and hang out with my sister though. What a fun treat. Thanks girl!

Here are the best birthday presents I could ever ask for:

Oh Carter. He is my little buddy. Always on my hip!

Here is Landon making a birthday banner for me. I love that he is able to make shapes. My favorites are the circles with faces. You can kind of see them in this picture.

Guess who is starting to go to bed at a decent time? That would be my 4.5 month old! Carter has been going to bed between 8:30-9pm and sleeping until 7:30am or later. Sometimes it's even 9am. It's heavenly!

New Trick

Carter has been lifting up his legs any chance he can get and I think it's too funny. Here he is watching football with Daddy on Halloween night. What a little monkey!

Halloween '09

Halloween was pretty low key for us this year. We started off by eating homemade chili with garlic sticks and yummy donuts and then took the kiddos trick or treating. I tried really hard to get a good picture of Landon and Carter together but it just wasn't happening! We trick or treated for about 20 minutes and then Landon decided he just wanted to go home. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that he REFUSED to take a nap. We came home and attempted to watch "Escape To Witch Mountain" but ended up putting Carter and Landon down soon after. Oh well...Happy Halloween everyone!
"Sweet" bumble bee-as Landon would say.

'Cheeeese!'
This is right before Landon dropped Carter on the lawn. Mom wasn't too happy!
How cool is the sky? Perfect for a Halloween night.

Ready to go Trick or Treating!

One more try for a family picture before the costumes came off. Pretty much sums up how it is around here!
p.s. Chris and I shared our first kiss 5 Halloweens ago. It has also been one year to the day on Halloween this year that we found out we were expecting another child. Whoa!
