Here is one of Carter's birthmarks. He has one on the back of his neck and a smaller one on the back of one of his legs. I thought it would be a good idea to have a picture of them incase (heaven forbid) anything should happen to him. Chris is always saying to Carter "Sorry about that birthmark, buddy" but I love it. No one else has one exactly like that. The doctor said his stork bite might fade but will never completely go away. Whenever we talk about the stork bite, Landon gets a concerned look on his face like something actually bit him!

[Milestones]
Slowly but surely, Carter is starting to hit his milestones! He has been able to roll from tummy to back for a few months now but has a hard time going from back to tummy. It might have a lot to do with the fact that we don't put him on his tummy very often. He gets SO mad. Well, now we know that he CAN roll...it's just when he wants to. Like the other day when he wanted the magazine that was on the floor. I tried to get a picture but he started to roll back.
Then yesterday while Landon and I were eating lunch, Carter was enjoying his puffs. They are finger foods for babies that melt in their mouth. Anyway, he LOVES these things and has recently been trying to put them in his mouth. He can grab one and he puts it up to his mouth but it never makes it in. I guess he got frustrated because I looked over and he was bent over, slurpping one up! What a little smartie. He is getting so big.

Time Out
I am SO going to buy this t-shirt! Life has been pretty hectic for me around here. With Chris working weird shifts and me trying to juggle the kids by myself, it leaves me feeling exhausted! Good thing I have my mom here to help. She has been taking me out of the house, playing with Landon, and watched both of the kids one night so Chris and I go on a date. Thanks mom! Anyway, Landon has been quite the little potty mouth lately. Nothing TOO bad...no swear words but enough to make me start inforcing 'time out.' I'll put him in the corner for 3 minutes and usually it calms him down. Whenever he catches someone say "stupid" or "shut up" he tells them they need a time out. Grandma was sent to her room a couple of times. Chris and I don't even realize how often we use these words. Little Landon just seems to be catching on to everything! I think it's time to get a timer and a naughty stool. I want my sweet little Landon back!!

@ The Pool
Landon and Carter got to go swimming today! Grandma Wagner and I took the kids to the recreational center in Bountiful for some water fun. It was such a bummer that the BIG slide and hot tub was out while we were there but we still had a good time.
Landon was such a big boy swimming around the 'lazy river' with his star tube. He pretty much did this the whole entire time.
I wonder if Carter though the pool was just a huge bath tub. He loved splashing around, kicking his legs, and mostly watching everyone playing around him.
All of the swimming wiped Carter out so he got out of the pool with mom while Landon played on the slides with Grandma.
So he had a quick shower and then he took a nap.
Doesn't Carter look so handsome in his swimming suit? And look how good he is sitting up!
It's too bad I thought I was taking a picture of him when really I had my camera set to video. I took this picture off the computer screen with my camera so it's not very clear. Does anyone know how to get a still shot from a video?
Spoon Boy
Carter LOVES these plastic spoons. The first time I gave them to him, he started hitting them together. I tried to get him doing it on video but he just wanted to eat them. Thought I would share it anyway!
So Big
Carter tried out his big brother's car seat the other night while mommy was finishing the dishes. The car seat usually sits in our kitchen or closet if we are not going anywhere. He looked so so little in it! I think we bought this one for Landon when he was 9 months or so and that would be in 2 months for Carter. I don't think it's gonna happen! It would scare me too much. Anyway, he loved sitting in it and and eating the straps. Let's face it, I don't have anything better to do than to take pictures of everything my kids do!

WARNING
This picture is a example of why you should NEVER EVER exit going out the entrance of our complex. It was late and I, being the awesome wife that I am, was going to my parent's house to wash Chris' work clothes. That's right, we don't have a washer and a dryer. It's a lot of fun! Anyway, it was late, dark, and I was in a hurry so I drove out the entrance. When you pull into our complex, there is an island. Why there is one I DO NOT KNOW. It was covered in snow and the cement sticks out just right on both sides. I hit it pretty hard but didn't think to get out of the car right away because the truck runs funny anyway. I drove for a few minutes and realized something just wasn't right. I pulled into the school by our house and that's where I discovered the HUGE hole in the tire. I drove it back home and went upstairs to tell Chris what had happened. As soon as I told him, he shot out of bed and said, "So that's what the loud crash was? I knew it was you!" Can't forget that Chris had to work early the next morning and that poor two seat er truck is our only means for transportation. My lovely mom came to get sobbing me, I did load of laundry, slept in my brother's bed, woke up way too early, went and woke up the kids, got them in the car, dropped Chris off at work, and then headed back to my mom's to give her a car. We can almost laugh about this now but it's still a touchy subject. We ended up buying four new tires and got a warranty on each ;) I wasn't going to post this mostly because I was too embarasssed and I took the picture to show my sister. I changed my mind when my visiting teachers came over and we got to talking and I told them what had happened. Their eyes popped out and one said "Ohh...thanks for telling us. We would never of guessed to do that." Anyway, consider yourself WARNED if you come over!

So Close!
Carter is so close to sitting up all by himself. The kids are getting their pictures done on the 23rd of his month so I'm really hoping that Carter can fully sit up without support. He does well with the boppy or with a toy in front of him but is still leans forward if you take them away. Sometimes he gets so excited he stiffens up and throws himself back so I have to be right there to catch him. I think he might have the same excited shaking deal that his dad and Landon had as babies and sometimes still do. Oh boy!

6 Months
Our little guy turned six months old just before Christmas. We took him to his well baby check up yesterday. Here are his stats at about six and a half months:
Still has blue eyes too!
15 pounds 11 oz
27 inches long
Has not doubled his birth weight quite yet but he is very close. Doctor said he looks GREAT!!
Doesn't he have the cutest cheeks you have ever seen? Could kiss them all day!

Tubby Time
Carter hated bathtime when he was first born but sure loves it now!!! Since Carter loves to sit up and watch everything that is going on, I knew he would just love a bath sitting in his Bumbo. Usually I have his baby tub filled with water when I put him in it so it was a real treat for him to watch the water pour in. I could hardly get him to look up for a picture-he could not stop staring at the water, making conversation. The Bumbo floated up a little bit so I had to make sure he didn't lean over too far. Landon kept asking, "Is that his boat?"
Visiting With Pa-Pa
My dad was here for about 10 days but it just didn't seem like it was enough. He left early yesterday morning and we are not sure when we will be able to visit again. Hopefully sooner than later! We miss you already Pa-Pa!
[Photos taken while visiting Great Grandpa at his care center. He asked to hold the baby so I ran out to get my camera but was not quick enough!]

New Outfits
(From Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Kelli)
(From the Uths way over in North Carolina!^)
Here is just two of the many outfits that Carter received for Christmas. I meant to take pictures of both of the kids in their new oufits (mostly for the Grandmas and aunties!) but only got around to these ones. I am super grateful for the clothing because our kids are growing like weeds! Thanks everyone!
