Trunk Or Treat
Our neighborhood held a "Trunk or Treat" night tonight in the church parking lot. Basically it's like trick or treating but instead of walking from door to door, you walk from trunk to trunk and get treats. I grew up going every year in our family ward and was really glad that our neighborhood decided to do it this year. It was a lot of fun to dress up the kids and head over to collect treats! Landon was Spider Man, Carter was a bumble bee and I was a pumpkin! I actually wore the same 'costume' 23 years ago [in utero.] Amazing, huh? Anyway, after we had trunk or treated, there was a pumpkin carving contest [someone said I should of entered myself-haha!], best costume contest, hot chocolate, and hot dogs. Carter zonked out before we even started so I ran home to get his car seat and stroller and he stayed warm in there the whole time. What a great thing to do on Halloween eve.
Landon thought it was so cool to see so many people dressed up. Anytime a super hero would walk by, he would "shoot his spider webs" out at them. I think it's so funny that he thinks everyone wants to play with him!
Landon was one lucky boy with all of the treats he got. He even got a cookie which he consumed almost right away.
p.s. Don't worry that I stole some kids candy! While we were eating our hotdogs, I saw a pumpkin on the ground and assumed it was Landons so I put it in our stroller. We got home and I went to help Landon pick out a treat and noticed he got a donut. I took a bite right away and then in walks my aunt with his REAL treat bucket. I ran back to the church to return it. Oops!

Lately...
Carter has become very fond of his carseat toy-the cow. He will sit and talk and talk and talk to him and make the CUTEST little sounds. Today, we took a trip to Kohl's to buy Carter some bibs and I looked back to find Carter asleep with his cow in his hand.
He also sprouted more hair out of the blue and I was able to put it in a little mohawk the other day after his bath. Okay, so he's not cousin it but the fact that his hair is growing back is awesome. This little guy just keeps getting more and more fun. I just love my baby!

Early Birthday Present
My husband has never really been the "gift shopper" of the family. I am the one who usually picks up birthday, wedding, and Christmas gifts. Chris [most of the time] has me go with him to pick out my gifts because he says he has no idea what to get or where to look. Well, this year, he REALLY surprised me! While we were in Gardner Village in the Christmas Shop, I pointed out a Willow Tree figurine that I wanted to add to our collection. While I took Landon to the restroom, Chris disappeared somewhere but I didn't think anything of it. We have been fighting lately and finally yesterday talked it out and then Chris told me he wanted to give me my birthday present early. He dug through the closet and bought our a paper brown sack with the figurine "Quietly" that he had boughten a few weeks eariler without me knowing. It was really sweet. I bought Chris "New Dad" [while we were expecting Carter]for Easter and I already had the "Angel" from my sister [while I was pregnant with Landon.] So I am glad that we now have one with both kiddos. We also have "Promise" that we given to us for out wedding-from Brittany! I love our little collection is growing and that each Willow Tree that we own has memories and means something to us. What a thoughtful, early, birthday gift!

Rice Cereal
Carter tried rice cereal for the first time today! I have been putting a little bit in with his milk when he drinks from a bottle but this was his first try with a spoon. He did really well at first and didn't mind the taste but soon got frustrated and started spitting cereal at me. I eventually the rest of the cereal in a bottle and fed it to him that way. It was a nice attempt, we will keep trying every day! I can't wait to try out the fruits and veggies.
Rub A Dub Dub
I decided to try to give the boys a bath at the same time on Sunday. Landon was really excited. The whale tub wouldn't sink and was always afloat and it was hard to bend over to get Carter cleaned up but it was kind of fun! It will be even more fun when Carter can sit up and the boys can splash around.
Annual Pumpkin Carving
Every year, my mom and Aunt Melissa plan a pumpkin carving party. This was the first year Chris was able to go and we had a lot of fun. After we made our bellies full of spagetti, salad, bread sticks, lots of different dips with crackers and veggies, and cupcakes (with frosting made from scratch by me-yum!) everyone got to carving. Chris carved a scooby doo pumpkin for Landon and Landon had push in body parts (kind of like a potatoe head) from last year. I was on baby duty most of the time but while Carter slept, I decorated a pumpkin for him. Brit did the ghost.

Davis Farm
We took the kids to Davis Farm, the same place we went to last year, to get some pumpkins for Halloween. One of the gals at the register was actually our nurse that gave the kids shots yesterday-such a small world! Someone had told me that they sell blue colored pumpkins and I must of told Landon because he insisted on finding one when we got there. We found a somewhat blue pumpkin that Landon just had to have. I think it might of been a squash or something but it made him so happy. Carter got a little pumpkin and Chris got a big one to carve.
4 Months Old
Our little Carter bug turned 4 months old this past Thursday and we can hardly believe it! Not rolling over yet but maybe soon. He found his hands and can hold toys and put them in his mouth, which is a lot of fun! He loves his blankey and pacifier. He can also put himself to sleep when given both. He still has blue eyes and we are hoping they will stick. It also looks like he has blonde hair coming in and we are excited about that. We took him in for his well baby check up yesterday and here are his stats:
Weight 12.9 oz (25%)
Height 25.5 in (75%)
Carter is still having problems with his bowel movements but other than that, he is perfectly healthy and everything is right on target. He dropped from 50% in weight to 25% so they were concerned that maybe he wasn't getting enough to eat. They asked me how much I got when I pumped for him and told me it was plenty. We were told we could introduce rice cereal but only if we felt like we needed to and we do! I think it will really help. Carter seems to always been hungry! Carter got 4 shots and one oral vaccination and did awesome. He only fussed while it was happening and calmed down as soon as I picked him up. Landon also had to get two shots and he was super brave. It went a lot better than we hoped. What big, strong, cute boys I have!

Anelope Island
Joan and Chuck took the kids to Anelope Island in Salt Lake on Tuesday afternoon. Carter and I were going to go as well but then we realized we didn't have a car big enough to fit all of us because Chris was at work. So off they went! They came home telling me how much fun it was. I couldn't believe how close they had gotten to the buffalo to take a picture-craziness! It was nice for Landon to get to play with his grandparents and cousin and see all of the fun animals and olden day houses.
So while they were away, Carter took a nap...
Snuggled with a pair of basketball shorts...(He always has to have something silky or soft by his face so he loved this. I almost put the shorts in his carseat because he was so content with them. Such a funny little boy.)
and found the sports channel at a local resturaunt.
Oh and I just enjoyed Carter in good spirits!
