Arizona Trip ::Day 3::

:: Day 3-Graduation and Car Disaster ::

Kelli's graduation was at 2pm and we were planning on leaving around 11;45. Of course we got up early enough to enjoy a dip in the pool before we left.

Chris' awesome photo taking. I wasn't going to post it but it shows how nice the place was where we stayed. This was just the pool house. It was sweet!

Tristan-Erin's little boy.

Kelli all ready for graduation!

It took about an hour to get to the graduation. By the time we made it to the parking lot, we were DYING from the heat. Just as we pulled in and were about to pay for our parking, we heard something that sounded like a gun shot. At first I thought it was something behind us but then I realized there was smoke coming out from the hood. AWESOME! My first thought was that the car over heated but once we got out we saw transmission fluid EVERYWHERE. Not a good sign. Chris' mom and tiny sister, Erin, were able to push the car into a parking spot. The security officer was nice enough to not charge us for parking. We were freaking out at this point and not to metion totally embarassed that we were holding up traffic! We had just killed my sister's car and had no idea what was wrong with it or how we would get home.

Lena Magoo "What happened to your car?!"

Waiting to watch Kelli get her diploma. Chris doesn't look stressed out or anything does he? I made him take another photo but it cut off Landon so I'm posting both.

Congrats Kel!

After graduation was over, we all crammed into the retal that my in laws had. There was 9 people in all and definately not enough seat belts...good thing we didn't get pulled over! We had no choice but to leave the honda until morning when we could figure out what to do next. We drove for what seemed like forever to a cute Italian restraunt. I barely had any water or food all day and by this time it was nearly six. I felt like I was going to pass out. I brought one water bottle and one sippy of gatorade on the way to graduation but they were both gone within minutes. So when the waiter brought out plates of dough for the kids, they all thought it was to eat when really, it was to entertain them while we waited for the food. Carlos and Landon both shoved the floury dough in their mouths as soon as they could. Carlos cried from being embarassed and the nasty taste of TONS of flour and Landon cried because he was so hungry and wanted more. After a convincing a sad little boy that it was for playing and not eating, he really enjoyed playing with the dough and making balls. The food finally came and it tasted so good!
