I've never really been a huge fan of the baby leggings or "baby leg warmers." When Landon was a baby, I remember my friend telling me about them and I thought they were just so silly. Well, guess what? Now I think they are kind of fun! They are especially cute on little girls with tutu's on.They are also awesome for around the house, crawling, and for diaper changes. You used to only be able to find them online but I've seen them in Target and Boutiques everywhere. They aren't cheap though...some are as much as $11-15. I've seen tutorials online making them out of a regular pair of socks so I decided to try and make a pair. I went to a few stores with my sister but didn't find any socks that I liked. Cody gave me an old pair to practice on and practice it was! I was getting really frustrated...mostly at my dumb machine that kept bunching up and then ran out of thread at the almost end of my little project. They aren't perfect but hopefully I can get my sewing machine fixed so I can make some more.
Trash to treasures, right?
The next day: I went to my aunt's and made another pair! With these ones. I knew what I was doing since I looked at a different tutorial that had better descriptions. The dark brown pair fits so much better and I was able to make them so that the thread didn't show. One side kind of looks like he is wearing a cast because I took it in and I should of only taken in the smaller part, by his feet. Either way, I'm pretty excited about them and I the next pair will be perfect ;] I think the best part is that I paid one dollar for them from the dollar store. Now I just need to find tube socks so I can make some for older babies! I am trying to find cute stripes or argyle ones. How come all of the stores are mainly carrying crew socks nowadays?!
