+New Furniture+

Since I was very first pregnant, my neighbors offered to give us their whole nursery set for the baby. I felt bad because her youngest is only like, 18 months and could still be sleeping in a crib but they kept inisisting that we take it. They ordered a twin bed for their son and hurried to have it ready by the time the baby came. It's kind of funny because the people that lived in my parents house before my parents gave the set to our neighbors. It's like they are giving back to the house! A few days ago, it was brought to us and it is beautiful! I love love love it! We were told it was pretty hard to set up and takes quite some time so Chris figured he could get it done by the weekend. I'm not the kind of person that likes waiting for these type of things, especially when it's sitting there waiting to be set up. SO I surprised Chris, and myself, and had the crib all set up by the time he got home from work the next day. I just couldn't wait to put Carter in his new bed and watch him sleep. Okay, I admit, I put him in when he was KIND of sleeping but I had to take the pictures. I still have some accessories to hang and I want to decorate his changing table cute but how cute is the bee bedding?! We are so grateful to our friends. We would of never been able to afford furniture like this right now. Thanks Clarke family!
Before and After. Yes, I did this part by myself too. That sucker is HEAVY

:::Sleepy Heads:::

I think it's so funny that Landon has his daddy wrapped around his finger. While I was pregnant with Carter, I worked really hard to get Landon sleeping in his bed BY HIMSELF. I knew once the baby came, I wouldn't be able to lay down with Landon anymore until he fell asleep. I love cuddling with Landon but I knew it would be difficult to do this with a new baby. Well, of course as soon as Landon asks, dad will lay down with him. Most of the time, I catch Chris falling asleep WITH him.I guess it's okay because then I get some quiet time to myself. Landon doesn't even bother to ask me, he knows I will just tuck him in, give him a kiss, and shut the door :0) He is such a smart boy.
Carter on the other hand has really surprised us with his sleeping habits. He sleeps great in his bassinet next to our bed and most nights, only gets up twice. I am still tired but then I realize that hey, it could be A LOT worse. I've got it pretty good.

Two Weeks Old!

Carter turned two weeks old this last Monday and I am just now getting around to blogging about it! We spent the day printing off his announcements that my friend Dana made (so cute!) at Costco, visited with aunt Britt, then I made a lame attempt at a little photo shoot. Oh, and Carter finally lost his cord on this day too. I was excited for it to go because it's just kind of nasty but I knew once it did, we would be able to see what kind of belly button he would have. Well, it looks like he is going to have an outie! Some of my family who saw it think it's kind of weird (we all have innies) but I think it's kind of cute. It looks like a tiny cinnamon roll!
On Tuesday, Carter went to the doctor for his two week check up. Everything, to my relief, is going very well. Carter is gaining weight and just thriving! He weighed 8 pounds and 1 oz so not quite to his birth weight yet but we are getting close. I know to many people that 8 pounds might sound like a big baby but when your first is 9, it makes a huge difference! He is our little guy and we just love him to peices.

Independence Day

I am a little slow to make posts on here but with a new baby and an energetic toddler, it's hard to find the time! However, I wanted to put some pictures up from the fourth of July because we had such a fun day. Although my recovery from Carter's birth had been taking longer than I anticipated, I didn't want to miss out on this day. I figured I could sit at home and be miserable or get up and go do fun things with my family. So that's what I did!
We started off the day by going to a parade just down the road from our home. This was Landon AND Carter's first parade so we were pretty excited to take them. Landon freaked out when the fire engines drove by, blasting their sirens but after a while, he got used to the noises and had a blast. Carter amazingly slept through all of this!

Later in the evening, my parents had part of dad's side of the family and next door neighbors over for a BBQ. My cousin, Celeste, was in town with her two kids so Landon had someone his age to play with for once! We had lots of delicious food and even homemade icecream. Once it got dark, we headed to the front yard to set off some fireworks. Of course Landon did NOT like how loud it got and ended up in the house. Carter stayed outside longer than he did! Oh well, maybe next year will be different.

My cousin made several attempts to get a nice family photo but Carter kept fussing and Chris looked too much like a creepo. HAHA! I guess I'll take what I can get, right?

My cousin, Celeste, and her two cute kiddos lovin on Carter

Happy fourth of July everyone!

*Pa-Pa*

My dad was able to come home for the fourth of July weekend from Conneticut and we were absolutely thrilled. It's been hard having him so far away for such a long period of time. I'm glad that he got to see Carter while he is still so new because they grow up way too fast. The trip was short but it was fun while it lasted. Landon adores his grandpa and Carter already took a liking to him as well. Carter was fussing while I was getting ready one day and my dad scooped him up and cuddled him and he immediately stopped. My kids just love their Papa!

Brothery LOVE

I'm surprised at how well Landon is taking to his new brother. At first he wasn't too sure about this tiny little bundle we introduced him to but you wouldn't know that now. Landon LOVES to hold Carter's hands and give his head kisses. It's the sweetest thing to look over and see Landon with his hands curled around Carter's and have him say "Holdin hands, Mom!" The only time he acts jealous at all is when he wants to use something of Carter's, like the Boppy, and I tell him no and that it's the babies. He then tells me he is a baby too and his name is Carter. I guess if that's how he is going to act out, I'm totally okay with that! I am so in love with these two boys and can't imagine life without them.

I am one lucky mama!
