Hill Aerospace Museum

Since the weather was so nice on Monday, we took Joan, Chuck, and Lena to to Hill Aerospace Museum. We have never been there are we had such a blast. Outside there are probably twenty or more HUGE real life airplanes and helicopters that were just amazing. It's hard to imagine that those things can actually take off and fly-they were HUMONGOUS! The kids loved it and so did the adults. The museum inside was a lot of fun too. I think we may go back again sometime soon.
One of the great things about this place is that is is totally FREE. They accept donations though so we were sure to put a few dollars in the box when you walk in. The kids liked this a lot.

Carter napped while we were walking around outside woke up just in time for the museum.

Most of the planes had lots of interesting faces and pictures painted on the side.

Carter wearing his "Future Pilot" shirt. I would definately be okay with that! I thought this plane was on that Grandpa Wagner used to work on but it isn't. Looked the same to me!

Playing

Joan, Chuck, and Lena came to visit us this past weekend from Washington! With only a few days, we didn't get to do much but it was so good to have them over. Since it's so crammed in our tiny apartment, I decided to take the kids to the park at the school that is right down the street. The kids loved that the stroller Carter was in was just their size and could push it down by themselves. It was fun to see the kids playing together at the park and is hard for me to realize that Landon will soon be having recess at playgrounds like the one he played on. He really had a good time playing with his cousin Lena and Carter too!

Spring Has Sprung

We have been loving this warm Spring weather we have been having lately! Every chance we get, we try to get out of the house and go for walks. We figured out it is only 2 miles to my parents from our place so that's mostly where we head to. The pond near our house is always a hit with Landon too. Today I especially loved the blooming trees and blue skies. Loved it so much I didn't even mind the wind and how hard it was so push the double stroller with the wind blowing against us. Didn't mind it at all!
But Carter didn't like it one bit! The wind was way too much for him. Good thing our walk to Grandma's only took about a half an hour.Eariler today before Chris had to go to work, the kids, Chris and I walked to the pond. Landon's hair was poking up everywhere and everytime I looked at it when he was walking in front of us, I would comment on how funny it was. Finally Landon turned, folded his arms, scowled, and said "Stop saying that about mine hair!" So the more I commented, the more he would get mad. I don't know why, but I kept doing it. He was cracking us up. That boy has some crazy hair and I don't usually style it unless we are actually going somewhere.

Even the animals came out to play. How random are these life size statues in someones front yard? I think this house is Landon's favorite part of the walk.

Feel free to stay as long as you want, blue skies!

Montana

Chris finally got a break from work so we decided to head to Montana this weekend to visit my two sister in laws, Megan and Erin, and their families. It took us about six and a half hours to get there so we only got to spend one full day but it was worth it to see everyone. I wish that all of our families could live in the same state because we have so much fun together. Even though we were only there Friday night, Saturday, and a little bit of Sunday, we had enough time to do lots of fun things. Landon had a BLAST playing with his cousins and all of their cool toys, riding their little kid four wheeler, Megan and I went shopping a bit, Adam made us Elk for dinner, everyone loved on Carter, and just hung out! I can't believe I didn't take more pictures than I did. I will have to bug Megan to send me some.

As usual, the boys did great on the car ride!

Carter is the baby of the family so everyone could not wait to get their turn holding him. It was funny to see the little girls try to hold him on their laps. He was almost their size!

Just hangin with the girls.

Hailey, Landon, and Lexi.

Carter recently discovered that he can "babble' so most of the weekend and car ride there and back we heard "Ba ba ba ba ba!" He also is TEETHING but was such a trooper. One tooth popped up about a week ago and it's the cutest thing!

We were so happy to be able to spend some time with Daddy!

Aunt Megan and Carter. This was her first time meeting baby Carter. Can't believe it took us that long to make the trip up there. He made her want a baby boy...can you blame her? ;)

Standin

Carter boy stood for the first time without help this morning. By no means can he pull himself up or anything, I put him in the position, but he could stand long enough to eat a few puffs and enough to get a few pictures. Of course he is leaning on the couch but if you've seen Carter at all, you would know this is a huge improvement. Before he would just bend his legs like for instance, if you held him up to stand while he was on your lap. Hopefully this will make good practice so this guy can strengthen his legs and walk by his 1st birthday!

Seat Belt Covers

I made these car seat strap covers for the kids so that their little necks won't rub on the straps on their carseats! I bought 1/2 a yard of the striped fabric on sale and didn't use hardly any of it. The poka dot fabric was one my sister had in her bag of fabrics. All I had to buy was binding (and fabric) because my sister had the velcro and batting for the inside. So pretty much this cost me less than $5 for both and they are CUTE! Totally dress up the car seats. You can even use these for strollers and adult seat belts. I thought they would make fun baby shower gifts. So if you know me and are having baby, don't act surprised if you get a pair from me.
(For Landon's car seat at Grandma's)
(And Carter's)

The Verdict

Carter just got his allergy tests done and he is definately allergic to any type of egg. The yoke, the white, everything! I don't know what I am going to do for his 1st birthday cake. 50% of people outgrow this allergy so I am hoping that is the case for Carter. Since Landon is allergic to peanuts, we had Carter tested for that and there was no reaction, so that was good news.We were told that people with a peanut allergy are 20% likely to outgrow the allergy as well. Since Landon and Carter are still so young, there is a chance that they might. We have appointments for both boys in 6 months to have them both tested again. Fingers crossed! I think I am going to have to do a lot of researching from now on. Having two kids under the same roof with two entirely different allergies is going to be rough.
*Picture taken on my phone so it's not very clear. His whole left side reacted (to eggs) as well as the lower right side. The only part that did not react was to peanuts on his upper right side.

9 Month Check Up

Carter had his 9 month well baby check up today and he looks GREAT! Here are his stats:

Weight: 18.9 pounds (25%)
Height: 29 inches (75%)
Head: 17.8 in. (50%)

We were referred to an allergist this Wednesday to be tested for an egg allergy, fingers crossed. The doctor told us it's a pretty serious allergy and eggs are in SO many things so he wants to have him tested as soon as possible. The little guy only had two shots today (instead of 5, Flu and H1n1 were two of them) because some of the shots were grown from eggs. Since we don't know if he is allergy or not, we wanted to be on the safe side. Carter didn't cry AT ALL for the first shot and BARELY cried for the second-I was so proud! What a tough little guy. Other than rolling around EVERYWHERE, he is not crawling quite yet. I'm sure it will just happen one day when we are not expecting it. We stopped nursing completely around 8 months so he is now fully on formula. It made me a little sad that I was not able to nurse him until our goal of a year but he is healthy and thriving so I think that's all that matters. He loves all foods and wants anything on your plate. He is such a fun, smiling, rolly poly, guy and we sure love him a lot.Grandma Wagner offered to watch Landon during Carter's appointment so after he was dropped him off, Carter got to sit in Landon's seat-a real treat! It easily adjusts to Carters height and everything.I know I shouldn't but it was only for one trip and he loved it. I scored the car seat at Target for $47.99 when it was orginally priced at $189.99! I wish they would of had two so I could of gotten Carter one. Landon's old one is looking pretty beat up. I love when I find good deals on kids stuff!

Easter 2010

Easter was a very peaceful and happy one this year. Each of the boys got a special basket of goodies from the Easter Bunny, we got to see Daddy for a little while [he had to work] and then we headed over to Grandma and Grandpas where we spent most of the day.
How cute are the boys and their baskets? My mom bought this racecar 'basket' for my dad forever ago so I only had to buy Carter a basket this year. I waited until the last minute so it was on sale too. I think they liked them! I totally spaced and did not buy vinegar so Chris and I decided not to color eggs at the last minute even though we had plenty boiled. We ended up taking them to Grandma and Grandpa Wagner's and dyed them before dinner and while Carter slept because they did have vinegar! [Found out later you can dye the eggs with just water and kit but the colors will just be light] Landon had way too much fun and so did Grandma and I. He was such a big helper with turning the eggs when they needed to be turned. And they turned out great! After Carter bug woke up from one of his many naps. He slept most of the day. Growth spurt maybe?
Of course Grandma Wagner had a litte something for Landon and Carter. Grandpa was sick, my brother is out of town, Chris had to work, and Brittany [Cody went out of town for work] came over in the evening so it was pretty much just Landon, Grandma, andI. We had a good time but the only thing that was missing was Daddy. Happy Easter everyone!

Easter Egg Hunt

My parents neighborhood put on another Easter egg hunt this year! It was freezing but we were glad it didn't snow. Everyone met up at the same house and then we went around together to each house that had a pink sign. Landon had a good time and only had a few short melt downs when he could not find the color egg he wanted-we're working on it ;) Carter was in his stroller for a little bit and then Daddy held him for a few minutes and he fell asleep. Can't wait until next year when Carter can run around with his brother collecting eggs. All ready to go! The boys were wearing their matching Easter polos but since it was so cold, we had to bundle them up so you could not even see them.Carter loves to be outside in his stroller. He didn't even fuss when the wind was blowing all over. Carter fast asleep in Daddy's arms, all bundled up!

Carter LOVES eggs lately, not the kind that you can eat! For the last couple of weeks, we'll put a small bucket in front of him and he will take every single one out and have a blast with them. We made sure to put some jelly beans in a few eggs so that it will make noise when he shakes the egg. He will entertain himself with them for a long time. Look how good our 9 month old is sitting up, all on his own, not supporting himself with his hands-finally!
