Mommy & Baby

Cody and Brittany took these pictures when Carter was about a week old. I am at my sister's waiting for her Young Women's activity to be over so I decided to steal these from her computer and post them. There were a ton but I just put my favorites up. I love some of the faces Carter is making and his funny spread out toes. I think they both have awesome photo taking skills. Thanks guys :)

[Fresh Air]

I feel like I have been cooped up in the house ever since I delivered Carter. I want to go swimming so bad but I have to wait until the doctor gives me the go-ahead at my 6 week check up. If I can't be in the water, I can't stand being in the heat for more than 5 minutes. It's way too stinking hot for me! My mom is constantly taking Landon to Cherry Hill, a water park, and swimming outside. When they were outside today, I decided to join them instead of sitting on my butt watching Dr. Phil in the air conditioned house. I took Carter with me and we sat in the shade. There was a little bit of a breeze so it wasn't bad at all sitting out there. I had a good time watching Landon splash around in his little pool. I don't know where he learned it but he kept plugging his house, jumping, and letting go of his nose just as he hit the water. He was cracking us up so I had to get it on video, which I will add later. After Landon decided he was done playing, he ran over, soaking wet, and insisted on "sleeping" like Carter on the blanket I had out. Carter fell asleep after sitting for a few minutes. He must of want to be in the fresh air as much as me!

5 weeks old!

Our baby turned five weeks old yesterday
Carter has been a relatively easy baby to take care of. I love staying home and being with my two little boys. Landon has been a big help and is quick to get me anything I need for Landon. Carter is such a snuggly little thing-I love that! Carter is still not sleeping through the night but I am hanging in there 'cause I know that he will someday soon! He teased me twice and slept from about 10pm-7:30am and then about midnight to 7am the next night only tor return to getting up to eat every few hours to eat the following night. Even though it's sometimes hard to get things done around the house being Carter needs something, I try to just soak it up because I know that one day he isn't going to want to be held and loved ALL day long. He is going to be Landon's age before I know it! I LOVE having his little baby in our family and am so glad that he chose us. I can't imagine one day without my two sons.

Here is Carter at 4 weeks of age enjoying the play mat passed down from his big brother.

:::24th Of July:::

(I'm not really sure why my pictures are posting upside down...I will have to fix them later.) To celebrate the 24th of July, we went to Bountiful and watched fireworks on the 23rd and then on the 24th we went out to my uncle Craig's house in West Jordan for some more fun! Landon was RIDICULOUS at the fireworks show. I thought he would like these fireworks rather than the ones that we did on the 4th because these ones are far away in the sky. Nope...he still FREAKED out. I was covering Carter's ears and Landon was hiding under his blanket, crying almost through the whole thing. I really hope he grows out of this by next year. Anyway, we had a blast at my Uncle's. Landon got to go swimming in their new pool, Chris played some basketball, are yummy food, and then did our own little fireworks show. Landon, Carter, and Chris stayed inside...The best part of the night was when aunt Brittany told Landon to hit uncle Travis on the head with his sword. Now I'm not one for hitting but that was pretty stinking funny. I'm not really sure why...maybe Travis deserves to be hit once in a while. We laughed and laughed-it was great.Great Grandma Mayne keeping Carter safe from the wind

I'm really glad that we get to live in Utah where we get to celebrate with fireworks, BBQ's, and family twice in one month. We had a really good time!

+Play Date+

My friend Jamie had her little baby girl, Marlee, 3 days after I had Carter and I was able to take the boys over for a visit a week or so ago. It was really nice to just sit and talk with her. I am so glad that I met her while working at Bountiful-she has been a good friend to me and I love hanging out with her and her cute girls! Carter was being a little fussy but as soon as we laid him next to Marlee for a picture, he was totally content. How fun it was to see our babies next to eachother and what a difference a couple pounds can make. Marlee is so tiny! I can't believe that we carried these little ones in our bellies for 9 months and talked about them now they are here.
Landon really likes to go over and play with Mya, her now two year old, and all of her fun toys. Works out nice :) Thanks for the play date Jamie. We can't wait to come play again!

[Chuck E Cheese]

My mom and Travis took Landon to Chuck E Cheese tonight-how fun for him! He is so lucky to have a Grandma around that will take him to do things like that. Anyway, they came home with this picture. It's actually a pretty awesome picture of him for being from one of thise silly booths. I might have to cut the border off and frame it. It's not very good quality on here because I took a picture of a picture. I had to share it because well, just take a look at that kid's eye lashes! I can't say that he got those from me...clearly, they are from his daddy. He's going to be a little heartbreaker, I just know it!

:::Blue Jeans:::

Carter has been much been wearing onesies since it has been so stinking hot out and the shorts we have for him are still too big. When the air conditioning is on and we are in the basement, it gets a little chilly so I decided to put on Carter's first pair of blue jeans and shoes. Of course they didn't fit right just yet but they looked so cute on him. I look in his closet and am super excited for the fall so I can dress him in all of the oulfits we bought him and saved from Landon. Then again, I don't want it to be fall just yet and have him fit into those clothes because that would mean he is getting bigger. I can't believe he will be one month on tomorrow...that is just craziness!!!

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday was the first time I had gone to church in quite a while! Carter was born on a Monday and then I waited a few weeks to take him so it feels like forever since I had been there. Carter did really well...he slept the WHOLE entire time! Landon on the other hand has had problems lately with going to nursery. Ever since I had to leave him all day long when I was working and going to appointments for the pregnancy, he's been really attached. Hopefully we can get him back into loving nursery (and then primary!) because taking him to Relief Society is not very much fun for him...or me! Haha. Good thing I have my mom helping me at church...otherwise, it would be hard! Our ward starts at8:30 so naturally, I'm usually a little bit late but did manage to get a quick picture before. Landon had just woken up, can you tell?I am so in love with these two little boys. They are such sweet, cuddly little things!

A Visit From The Cooks!

The Cook's came to visit us from St. George for a couple of hours today and we were SO glad! I have known Alisha since we were in little girls and have always remained close to her-even when we are miles or states apart. Her husband, Braeden, I met the night we proposed to Lesha almost three years ago. The best part about us being friends is that we all get along great and they are super good to our kids. I am really lucky to have them as friends, seriously! It was sad to say goodbye but we made plans to see eachother again soon.
Alisha holding Carter in his new oulfit they brought him!

I love that Breaden loves to play with Landon and hold Carter. Just look at him holding baby Carter's hand-HOW STINKING CUTE!
Thanks for coming to see us-we can't wait to see you both again!

3 weeks Old!

It's only been three weeks since Carter was born and I can already see some changes in him. He is starting to study faces and TOTALLY recognizes my voice-I love that! He hasn't started smiling yet but I'm hoping he will soon because it's so SO cute when he does it in his sleep.
The other day when I set Carter in his carseat, I realized that he had nothing fun to look at and was totally looking around. I ran and found one of Landon's old toys and attached it to his carseat-he really seemed to like it!

Then & Now

May 2007 and today, July 2009

My how much my Landon has changed! When he was a baby, we received a froggy hooded towel from my mom. I loved that thing! The picture was Landon as a baby is one of my absolute favorites. Well, after many washings, that towel started to fall apart, as you can see, and fade. I threw it away and didn't think I'd find one again. I went to the grocery store with my sister one day and there they were-on clearance too! I figured Landon was too big for one now but that Carter could use it. Landon insisted on getting a monkey towel (for himself) when I held up the two for Landon to choose one for his little brother. I couldn't decide so I ended up getting both. For old times sake, I put it on Landon after his bath the other night and it was SO flipping funny! The towel was scrunching down his eyes and we just kept cracking up laughing. I love my little froggy boy!

Carter James-18 Days Old

Earlier this afternoon, my mom handed me a coupon for Target's picture studio so I decided to take Carter in to get a naked baby shot. I had this vision of him on his belly, sleeping, in black and white. I thought it would look really cute framed above his bed. The coupon was for one free 8 by 10 and then any additional sheets would be 3.99. I figured I could get two cute poses and walk out paying 4 bucks. Well, I was a little off but not by too much. Luckily, my sister was with me and helped me out. Shopping with two kids can be so crazy! I don't think I've had to go anywhere with the two kids yet. We had to wait a few minutes so we decided to walk around. My sister asked what oulfit I brought to have his pictures done in and I panicked. I was only thinking of the naked baby pose and the onesie he was wearing would not of worked! We headed to the baby department and I found cute striped shirt that I figured would do. Carter ended up being hungry through the whole session and kept trying to eat his hands but I think we got some good ones. The best part is that I walked out paying only 17 bucks and got a 10 by 13 pose (the special delivery one that will go above his crib), an 8 by 10, and 2 5 by 7's-not bad! Here are some of my favorite shots. I am trying to soak up every minute of Carter being a newborn. I never took Landon in to get pictures done when he was this small and I regret it now. You forget things after it's been so long. I love that these pictures show every feature perfectly in Carter's sweet face, hands, and feet.
