Good Fortune

My dad loves chinese food and there is a yummy restraunt in Salt Lake called Mountain City so we decided to take him there on Saturday for his birthday. Of course the food was delish but I could not eat hardly any of it. I got full really fast. The little lady that runs the place was talking to us most of the night commenting on how handesome Landon was and how he looked like me AND Chris. She was really cute. Anyway, after we had paid, she brought out a small plate of orange chicken. We didn't order that so I figured she just wanted me to try it. I took a bite and she anxiously was staring at me asking if it was good. I told her yes, it was very good and she replied "well, eat!" and stood there to make sure I finished the piece. She told me she watched and saw that I didn't eat very much. Haha oh boy. I could not eat another bite so I tried to get Chris to eat it and of course he said something obnoxious, loud enough for the lady to hear. Luckily she didn't catch on and I placed the last of the chicken in our to go box. ANYWAY, soon after that, I ate my fortune cookie and here's what it said

Remember three months from this date. Good things are in store for you.
IMMEDIATELY I thought of the baby. We orginally thought our due date was going to be June 27...Three months from the day I got the fortune cookie would make the date June 28th. How crazy would that be if it was true? I asked the lady if the fortunes were true just to see what she said and she smiled and said no. She then told me to stand up so she could guess what the sex of our baby. She said she's always 95% right and felt my stomach. She asked if we were having a girl. Nope, sorry lady. I guess we are the 5% that she gets wrong. SO, it will be interesting to see if our fortune comes true. I sure hope so because I am already getting really uncomfortable. For the past 2 days I have had cramps and I am still very sore. Someone at work told me she contracted long before she had her baby and that's why she thinks she had such short labors. I would LOVE for that to be the case with me. I refuse to be pregnant for 42 weeks again.

Spidey Man

How Landon got so into super heroes, I have no idea. So when my mom got a flyer in the mail for a birthday celebration with Spider Man at the Sports Plex in Kaysville, she immediately thought of Landon. Admission was free so hey, we were game! Of course it was crazy with tons of kids but when he got there, Spider Man did a little speech about staying in school and staying off drugs and alcohol. Afterwards, you could pay $10 to get a photo with Spider Man or if you had your own camera, it was free! So that's what we did. Spider Man was very friendly and knelt right down beside Landon. Landon acted really shy but when I showed him the photo of the two of them, his face just lit right up. The whole way home he wanted to go back and say hi. I will have to get this picture blown up for him...I think it's so funny. He looks freaked!

Oh Baby!

It's been a while since I have posted a pregnancy picture and I won't have another appointment for about 2 weeks so here it is (mostly for Mandy). I am 26 weeks 1 day pregnant as of today. In 13 days I will be 7 months along-time has flown by so fast! I can't believe that in 14 weeks (maybe not quite that long, maybe longer!) I will be a mother of two...TWO BOYS that is! How lucky am I?!

Pay It Forward

My friend's sister in law hosted a handmade give away on her blog and I won! I received my cute little bunny in the mail today and I love it-Thanks Casey! Anyway, I decided to do a little give away of my own. Don't worry that I already have the project finished! As soon as I found out I had won, I was trying to brain storm what I could make. Then, at church on Sunday, I saw a baby playing with a book much like the ones I made. I went home and made a few. All I needed was baseball card covers, hole punch, scrapbook paper, pictures, and ribbon. I think they turned out super cute and the best part is that I had everything I needed at home! The one that you have a chance to win is a booklet with the 16 LDS prophets in chronological order. If you want to participate with this give away, just leave me a comment by next Thursday and I will use a random number chooser to pick the winner. I will post the winner on this blog entry. The only thing I ask of you is that you pay it forward too. Doesn't have to be anything fancy-just have fun!

Here is one I made for Landon. It's not quite finished but he LOVES it and carries it all around the house.

I even made one for my keys-I am always losing them! I figured this way, it would be big enough to keep track of.

Good luck everyone!

Breakfast Time

Landon kept eye balling my cereal while we were eating breakfast. I had made him his own fun bowl with fun cereal in it but he kept making comments about my plain stuff. He was being way too cute so he I had to give him the rest AND of course, I had to get a few pictures. Landon got a tiny drip of milk on his hand and after I had rinsed out his bowl he called, "MAMA! Sticky hands!" He cracks me up. Why is he is getting way so big?!

Could he look any more like Chris?!
Check out his eyelashes.

Play Date

My friend from work, Jamie, and I have been wanting to plan a playdate for a long time now but something always came up. We finally were able to get together today and I am so glad that we did! The weather was nice so we took Mya, her little girl, and Landon to the park in Layton-a park I never knew existed! The kids played on the playground for a bit and then we fed the ducks some bread.

Mya posing for me. How cute is she?!

Mya kept eating the bread...

and when we weren't looking, Landon threw in a whole peice!

Jamie and I are both having babies on the EXACT SAME DAY! How crazy is that? Only, she is having another baby girl. It's been really nice to have someone as far along in their pregnancy as me. There are so many things we can relate to. I am so glad that I have at least one friend in Utah that I can talk to and hang out with. She's an awesome girl!

Thanks for hanging out with us today girls! I think the kids really liked being around eachother. We need to do it again SOON :)

China Hutch

At our open house for our wedding, my Grandma and Grandpa Mayne had Chris and I open our gift. It was a frame with our names and wedding date embroided in it. Along with it came a card saying "More to come!" Well, here it is! My grandparents have been working night and day trying to get this china hutch done. I once snuck a peak while I was over and I was blown away. My grandpa does such great work! The gorgeous dishes that are in the cabinet in the picture was a gift from my Uncle Doug for our wedding as well. I had only had a quick glance at one setting wrapped in bubble wrap a few days after our wedding. Now, they are some what taken out of their boxes and we can enjoy them! There are even more peices in the bottom of the hutch but I figured we should wait to open everything until we've moved. The peices look SO good with the dark color I chose. We are so excited to have this peice of beautiful furniture in our home for years and years and years down the road! I think it is so cool to be able to say that my grandparents (Landon's great) built this for our wedding and they even signed the back. We absolutely love it! Thanks G-ma and G-pa!

I had to post these darling pictures of my Grandparents from yesterday. They are holding the newest member of our clan-2 week old Jayden Carey! My cousin, Emerald's, little boy. Aren't they all so cute?

6 Month Appt

Chris and I argue all the time about how many months pregnant I am. He thinks I am only like 5 1/2 months along because every month isn't exactly 4 weeks. I meant to ask my doctor today but I totally forgot. I had enough time to think about it while I was there though...Landon and I sat and waited in the waiting room from 1:45 until 3:15 and then at 3:40 they told me I needed to do the glucose then and not in 2 weeks. I knew that once you took the drink, you have to wait an hour until your blood has to be drawn. I wanted to scream! I had to drop my mom off at her sister's at 10am and didn't want to drive all the way back home so Landon and I went to the DI and found some fun stuff and then I drove to Salt Lake. We played at McDonald's (across the street from the hospital) until it was time for my appointment. Needless to say, I got home at 5:30 and I was exhausted! Not really what I wanted to do on my day off. Anyway, everything seems to be going well. Baby is active and his heart is beating perfectly. My blood pressure and urine came back fine this time. Wish me luck with the glucose test! We will know the results in a few days.I wanted to get some kind of answers for my swelling and finally I was told the only thing I can do is use an ice pack 3 times a day and take tylenol. I could of figured that one out! I know that no one really cares about reading about my pregnancy every day but this is really more for me to remember things down the road! My next appointment is April 9th (not in 2 weeks. I didn't want to go back and my OB said I didn't really have to) and my friend Mandy and her baby will be here so they are going to come with! Hopefully we won't have to wait as long that time :) Oh and 24 weeks (to me) IS 6 months because in 4 weeks (28 weeks pregnant) I will be 7 months. 4 weeks after that I will be 32 weeks and that's 8 months. Technically you are pregnant for the full 9 months so it's really 10 months and that means I'll have 8 weeks left when I am 32 weeks along which is 2 months. I don't know why my husband doesn't believe me. Am I right?

BROTHERS

I am way too excited about this to not blog! A few weeks ago, I needed to get out of the house and slipped out to Kohl's. They were having a sale and I couldn't help but browse through the baby department. I came across the "Little Brother" onesie and HAD to get it! I had been wanting to buy a little brother onesie from a children's store called Gymboree but for one, it wasn't all that cute, and two, the price wasn't either! Anyway, I thought my grandma could come up with something cute that says "Big Brother" for Landon to wear that matched it. Then, last Saturday, my sister and I decided to go baby shopping. We agreed to take a look at BabiesRUs and on the way, Carter's. While we were inside, I saw a shirt that said "Big Sister." I figured that if they had a sister one, they would for sure have one for a brother! I went back over to the boys section and I couldn't find one anywhere. I asked a sales associate if they had any and she walked over to the table of shirts I had just looked over. I stood disappointed but told her I needed either a 2T or 3T when she asked. Undernealth the pile was ONE shirt left in 3T. I was so happy! That too, was on sale. Anyway, it looks really cute on Landon and I can't wait for him to hold his brother in the matching onesie. Sometimes I don't know if Landon quite gets what is going on and then other times, I totally think he does! Every once and a while, he'll kiss my belly (without us even saying anything) and say 'hi' or 'night night' to the baby. It nearly brings me to tears. I am so glad that he will have a brother to grow up with.

Baby Names

Chris and I are having a hard time coming up with baby names. Every single name I mention that I happen to like, he doesn't. However, we do like the idea of having the babies middle name be part of Chris'. Chris' full name is Christopher James Brown. I want us both to come up with a small list to choose from but so far, we have two names we both are happy with and are considering. And they are...

Carter James

OR

Nathaniel Christopher

When I was pregnant with Landon, Chris insisted on the name Nathaniel Christopher. He told me he had wanted a son with this name for years. I didn't like it very much then but I guess it's kind of grown on me. After Landon was born, we thought Hunter James was the cutest name and agreed to name our second born that if it was a boy. A lot of our family doesn't like this name and has since talked Chris out of it. I think it had a lot to do with Chris' mother-she absolutely does not like the name Hunter and my husband loves that woman! Anyway, I thought he had totally given up on that name until one night he said, "If we have a third son, maybe we can name him Hunter." with a grin on his face. So who knows, maybe that is still an option. If anyone out there in blog land has any input on the above names or any suggestions for other ones, feel free to leave them as a comment-We would love to hear them! I want our little guy to have a name before I give birth in four short months so get thinkin people!

"My Auntie Loves Me"

That is the saying I keep seeing on sleepers and want to buy SO bad because...

I AM GOING TO BE AN AUNT! Okay, well, I have 11 neices and nephews on Chris' side but this is my first blood neice or nephew! Brittany and Cody are finally blessed with a pregnancy. They have been trying for quite some time so everyone is just estatic! I went over one night to Brittany and Cody's in January just to hang out. While I was there, out of no where, my sister said casually, "Want to see something fun?" She then pulled out her digita camera. I figured it was a craft project or something she saw at a store that she wanted to do. As soon as I saw the picture, I was immediately confused. There on the screen was a pregnancy test! For some reason, I didn't get it. I looked up and said "What? YOU? WAIT, you're pregnant?!" She then smiled from ear to ear and said 'YEAH! What the heck!' She had no idea. She had actually been very sleepy and had to go potty a lot so her husband ACTUALLY thought she had diabetes. HAHA! Anyway, she is about 11 weeks along and due at the end of September. Our babies will be about 3 months apart and I'm pretty sure they are going to be best friends. Congratulations Cody and Brittany!

A BIG Boy

My little boy turned two and a HALF yesterday. It feels like we have had him in our lifes forever but then I think about it and my baby shouldn't be that old already! He is learning so much everday and is lots and lots of fun to be around. In just the last six months, his vocabulary has grown more than I could imagine. Being able to verbally communicate with him has been really exciting. Sometimes he may not know how to say something but if you ask him to do something, he can usually understand you and does it! Landon's favorite things right now are the Utah Utes, football, Superman, Batman, cars, any board game, dinosaurs, and wrestling. Such a boy :] I weighed Landon this morning and he is 28 pounds. I'm not sure how tall he is but it will be interesting to find out. I think he's going to have his daddys body type and that makes me very happy! I was a little worried when he was born and weighed a whooping 9 pounds! Anyway, I really CANNOT believe he will be 3 years old in 6 months. Am I really going to have a three year old and a newborn by the end of this summer?! As crazy as it's probably going to be, I can't wait. I'm sure this baby will bring just as much joy as our Landon bug has to us. We are just so in love with this little boy!
